LOEWE snake charm brooch i put on my filofax reminds of me the auryn from the neverending story - the amulet that helps guide atreyu, clandestinely, through fantastica in his quest to find a cure for the ailing childlike empress, & in turn defeat the nothing.
the design embraces two mythological serpents, symmetrical, biting at the other's tail. one serpent is white & the other black. the two represent the dual nature of the two worlds, fantastica & reality, but also the twin nature of their mutual creation and destruction. on the back of auryn are these words: "do what thou wilt." & if you a true fan of this epic story, you'd remember the amulet from the cover of the magical storybook
