like electricity, electricity, sparks inside of me, and i'm free i'm free

it was more than a decade a ago when Billy Elliott, the film, first moved me so much, that i actually collapsed emotionally in the theatre in toronto. ten years later, i caught the musical in london, still, it is heroic, it is heartfelt. a major reminder that nothing is more difficult than striving your butt off just to be yourself, be something less retarded than ordinary, be someone that dreams and follows it. we might not get there at the end, but it's fabulous die trying. a piece or work that bitch-slaps the curse of time, and never fails to inspire, that is golden. and yes, when michael shouts, "oi, dancing boy!' and billy turns back and kisses mike on the cheek, i cried like hell.
