been a fan of her portrait paintings for more than a decade. seeing the real thing with my eyes at the NEW MUSUEM just moves me to tears. my fave is entitled west 11th street, greenwich street, and 7th avenue, which is the first picture.
i took myself to a lovely lunch at freemans and went to the peyton show to top it off and they were closed!
back down there today. nice to be reminded of it. the pic of 7th ave is so familiar to me that the painting feels incredibly personal. makes me fall in love with new york all over again.
Hello stranger! I was in NYC the week before the exhibition so I missed it. But my dear boyfriend got me the book for Christmas. I'm glad you saw it and posted these pics.

they are great portraits, hope to see them myself one day
these paintings are quire emotional aren't they? Or is it because of your words?
the show was lovely. i was a bit shocked to see the size of them. for some reason i always thought they would be bigger.
loved this too. and agree with porter--thought they'd be huge but they were quite small, didn't you think? xo
Stunning works of art.
I love her work...lucky you
