leather game bags

fishing bag i don't know a thing about fishin' or huntin', but these bags with netting are so awesome. NIGEL CABOURN has once teamed up with the legendary BRADY to create two styles of bags with hand knotted waxed kute netting ( which is hand made in great britain by a 75-year old fisherman with decades of experience & oh so many tales to tell ) . RRL has also made a modern day version of the old timey game bag & now that has become a collector's item, especially in places like japan where vintage treasures are so beloved. however, the most iconic game bag of all would be the leather satchel used by literary icon earnest hemingway in europe from 1944 to 1959. apart from the inevitable mesh sack pockets, there is a silver print photograph in matte pasted inside the flap. also, inscribed under the flap is a white ink writing saying "from ernest & mary hemingway — bag of tricks, best always, papa." that's the thing about vintage leather bags, the magic of all the journeys & adventures that the owner has gone through somehow transformed into all those creases & discolorations of the leather ...
