midnight snack :

cold soba soba ( そば ) is the traditional japanese thin noodle made from buckwheat flour. my favorite kind is the chilled one, presented on a zaru ( ざる ) – a sieve-like bamboo tray, & served with a dipping sauce which is a fusion of dashi, mirin, & shoyu, together with some grated ginger, a midnight snack for a hot summer tokyo night is served in one of these late night little food stands in the busy streets of shibuya
