in greek mythology, hyacinth was a beautiful youth adored by both the god apollo & the west wind, zephyr. that boy has caused a major feud between the two gods. apollo & hyacinth used to take turns at throwing the discus. jealous that hyacinth preferred the radiant archery god apollo, zephyrus blew apollo's discus off course, so hyacinth ran to catch the dicus, just to impress apollo, but was struck by it as it fell to the ground, & died. for some reason, apollo didn't allow hades to claim hyacinth. instead, apollo made a flower, the hyacinth, from hyacinth's spilled blood. the tears of apollo then stained the newly formed flower's petals with the sign of his grief. & then the flower, somehow, is associated with the idea of rebirth

my old friend poison girl from hong kong was coming to new york city for the very first time for like 3 days & she had a busy itinerary with work yet she managed to sneak out of that a lil bit just to hang out so i literally had 8 hours to show her everything - the east, the west, the inbetween, the central park, the squirrels, the subway, the cab ride, the williamsburg, & the celine store uptown of course! now she finally understands why i have to come here

the other day we went all the way to red hook to shoot a story with the handsome & unassuming BRANDEN KENNEDY. the day kicked off with a buttload of drama but we broke the beastly spell with our diligence & resolution & positivity. during the rides, the darling crew debated about the importance of sweatpants & the lameness of selfish drivers. the day ended with a key lime pie, some spicy buffalo wings, & a couple glasses of guinness. happy days. happy days
