BUVETTE is my favorite new restaurant, or, as the owner calls it, a gastroteque. this rustic little place is filled with magic. the waiters are quirky, charismatic, enthusiastic, and they bust their asses off. servers at the bar works in buttoned-up shirts, waistcoats, and newsboy caps. nostalgia! the octopus and the rabbit are delicious, and the sauce is so good, john and i kept asking for more oily-soft bread that comes with crisp shreds of bittersweet onion on top. eating here makes me feel like i am a kid in a circus who keeps gasping and oooh-ing. the magnificent finale of the dinner would be the chocolate mousse and a cup of americano. ummm

this handcrafted oxidized sterling whale stick pin is entitled the great beast, created by the talented derrick cruz of BLACK SHEEP AND PRODIGAL SONS. everyone should go to his shop in the lower east side, it's called the OCCULTER. what amazes me is not only the horse hair bangle, but those sterile format paperbacks. each book is rubber-sealed with embossed titling. you simply have to rip the binding by pulling the attached metal-ended cord just to begin reading. once open, frayed binding tape may be folded into to the inside of the cover to create a clean edge or left in shreds as physical evidence of first contact. genius!

remember i did a story on a bunch of HUNKS last year? well, there's gonna be a sequel people! and in our first day of shoot, we had jason morgan and roger frampton from SOUL. ideally there would be an interview on each on the hunks to go with the editorial, but i didn't translate the interviews to chinese on time to make the deadline so the it's not gonna make it to the editorial:( however, the highlight of it can be read here, so read on
